VERGO Ltd operates as an employment business, supplying workers to clients under contracts for services. We're subject to:
- The Employment Agencies Act 1973
- The Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003, which govern how we deal with clients ("hirers") and workers ("work-seekers"): including the restriction on charging work-seekers for finding them work, and the rules on transfer fees covered in our terms of business
The Employment Rights Act 2025 is introducing changes for agency and low-hours workers on a phased timetable through 2026 and 2027, including duties around guaranteed hours and shift notice. Whether and how these apply to VERGO's flexible, no-fixed-hours model is still being reviewed [TO CONFIRM WITH SOLICITOR] and this page will be updated as that becomes clear.
Enforcement of these regulations is moving to the Fair Work Agency, a new single enforcement body. This doesn't change our obligations, only who checks them.
